Our bird control services start at £180, providing a cost-effective and responsible approach to urban bird management. Target Species Identification and Licensing Guidance Our bird control process begins with a detailed site survey to identify the target bird species. This is important because all wild birds and their nests are protected under "The wildlife and countryside act 1981" and certain species may require a special licence to be obtained before control measures can be taken. If a licence is required, it is the customer’s responsibility to obtain the necessary permissions from the relevant authorities. We can offer guidance and supporting documentation to help with this process. Humane Bird Control Methods and Follow-Up Visits At Salix Pest Control, we prioritise non-lethal bird control techniques that are effective and compliant with UK regulations. Our standard bird control service includes: - Setting humane bird traps to safely capture pest birds - Using bird scaring methods such as visual deterrents and acoustic devices - Two follow-up visits to monitor bird activity, remove trapped birds, and adjust control measures These visits ensure the control strategy remains effective and responsive to changes in bird behaviour. Additional Visits and Specialist Lethal Control Options If the infestation continues or the property presents unique challenges, additional visits may be required. These are charged at £50 per visit. In rare cases where non-lethal methods are unsuccessful, we may recommend specialist lethal control services. These are only considered as a last resort and require a separate agreement, additional costs, and full compliance with licensing and ethical standards.
